Community lunch & free container growing workshop in HNCC garden

Lunch in the garden
Sunday 10th June, 12pm-2pm
Highgate Newtown Community Centre garden, Bertram Street, N19

Come and join us for a shared lunch in the new community garden. See how the garden is growing and share our first salad.
Please bring along a home made or home grown dish to share with others. All welcome. (if it’s raining we’ll be inside the HNCC cafe, so please still come along).

Lunch will be followed by a ‘container growing’ workshop at 2pm with brilliant trainer Mark Ridsell-Smith which we’ve organised in partnership with Lissenden Gardens TA ‘Planting Seeds of Change’ growing + biodiversity project.

Last year Mark grew £900 worth of food on his balcony and small front garden in Chetwynd Road, and has pioneered vertical and container growing techniques. So if you only have a small space but would like to grow food, this workshop is perfect.

The workshop is free but it would help us to plan if we know numbers, so email us if you’d like to attend transitiondp@gmail.com
