Skills-share Saturday: Winter growing & knitting

‘Preparing for winter’ gardening work morning
10am-12pm, Saturday 27th October
Highgate Newtown Community Centre garden

Last month we celebrated a year of Transition Dartmouth Park and the end of our first food growing season, with a lunch and harvesting session in the community food growing space we have created at Highgate Newtown Community Centre. We were able to harvest and share potatoes, tomatoes, sweet corn and even a large squash which grew in a container.

We’ll finish gardening for the winter at the end of October and are holding a ‘preparing for winter’ work morning on Saturday 27th October, from 10am-12pm to plant over-wintering vegetables and green manure. Please do join us if you’d like to help, learn or just see the garden.

Knitting at The Star
Saturday 27th October, 1pm-4pm
The Star, Chester Road, N19

Last month our knitters were out in force, and we were even joined by a few of the Highgate Perls (very skilled HNCC knitting group).

We will continue our knitting sessions on the last Saturday afternoon of every month, beginners are very welcome and we’ll have some spare needles and wool on hand.
Children are also welcome to join in.
